Karmael Sauced

(I was making caramel sauce and left the pot on the stove to keep the left over caramel sauce warm so it would clean up easy. But it got away from me when I was in the other room and started burning.)

ME: Gideon, didn’t you see or smell the smoke?
GIDEON: Yes. I saw it and smelled it.
ME: Why didn’t you tell me it was burning?
GIDEON: How was I suppose know? You’re cooking is always like that.

OK, I’m not the best cook in the world, but I do not burn everything! Those who knew me as a child say Gideon is payback for my childhood shenanigans. thus the title “Karmael Sauced.”

  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • 1/2 Cup Butter (1 Stick), cubed
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt

Heat sugar in heavy sauce pan until it reaches 350. Add butter and stir until melted, then add cream, vanilla, and salt. Stir until combined and smooth. Let cool.
